British Family's Narrow Escape from Spanish Wildfire
A British family holidaying in Bedar, Spain, has shared their harrowing experience of surviving one of the country's deadliest wildfires. Lucinda Curtois recounted the ordeal she faced alongside her partner Riyaz Cheytan and their teenage children. The family had just arrived in Spain on Thursday, unprepared for the impending disaster that awaited them.
"We were not expecting to hit a wall of fire," Curtois explained. The family soon learned that close friends had been among those who lost their lives. She speculated that her friends might have left their home on foot because their road was likely impassable due to the wildfire's rapid spread.
